On November 30th, 2022, Albanesa Ymaya presented “Radical Transformation with Kaikaku”. The closing survey was responded to by 22 participants.

Our survey asked participants to rate the following on a 5 point scale (5 being the highest): Subject, Approach, Presenter, and Exchange. We report the statistics as “Top Box Scores” (percentage of 4s and 5s out of the number of responses) and Average Percentage. The percentage results were quite good (see the table).

We had some feedback regarding proposed subjects including: Medical device regulations, Topics on auditing, Emotional intelligence, People management, Six Sigma for service – metrics to measure, DOE, Lean Six Sigma, and Modern Quality Approaches.

Also from the feedback, we picked up on a few areas to improve: primarily to reduce the amount of time spent explaining Zoom and present more real stories and experiences to compliment the theory. We’ve taken the feedback to heart. Thanks!

Overall, very good participation, satisfaction results, and feedback. This event was a pleasure to attend. Thanks to those who attended and participated!

Le 30 novembre, 2022 dernier, Albanesa Ymaya nous a présenté “Transformer une entreprise par le Kaikaku” et 22 participants ont répondu au sondage de fermeture.

Notre sondage demande aux participants d’évaluer les points suivants sur une échelle de 5 points (5 étant le plus élevé): Sujet, Approche, Présentateur, et Échange. Nous présentons les statistiques sous forme de “Top Box Scores” (pourcentage de 4 et 5 par rapport au nombre de réponses) et de pourcentage moyen. Les résultats sont assez bons (voir le tableau).

Nous avons eu quelques retours concernant les sujets proposés, notamment: Réglementation des dispositifs médicaux, Sujets sur l’audit, Intelligence émotionnelle, Gestion du personnel, Six Sigma pour le service – métriques à mesurer, DOE, Lean Six Sigma, et Approches modernes de la qualité.

Ce retour d’information nous a également permis de relever quelques points à améliorer, notamment la réduction du temps consacré à l’explication de Zoom et la présentation de plus d’histoires et d’expériences réelles pour compléter la théorie. Nous avons pris ces commentaires à cœur. Merci!

Dans l’ensemble, la participation, les résultats de satisfaction et les commentaires sont très bons. C’était un plaisir de participer à cet événement. Merci à ceux qui ont assisté et participé!

Eric Hosking 2021Dans le cadre de nos efforts continus de la section pour promouvoir l’ASQ et ses 18 certifications professionnelles de la qualité, nous avons participé à l’événement de réseautage 2022.12.02 Réseautage BCM x AéMSG x ESG+. L’événement était organisé par trois secteurs de l’École des sciences de la gestion (ESG) de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) – le Bureau de Conseil en Management (BCM), l’Association des étudiants en maitrise des sciences de la gestion (AéMSG) et ESG+ (le lien entre le monde des affaires et l’école).

872bb684fb9edaa1fb6c0b872e9b133b-huge-reUne cinquantaine d’étudiants de l’école sont venus rencontrer trois conférenciers entrepreneurs expérimentés qui ont partagés leurs expériences sur les thèmes de La transition technologique; Le développement durable et La diversité dans l’entrepreneuriat et des représentants de diverses entreprises dont IBM, Hydro, PWC, KPGM et d’autres.

Nous avons bénéficié d’une vraie table alors que les autres industries était reléguées à des tables “de cocktail”, ce qui nous a permis de déployer nos 18 dépliants sur les certifications de l’ASQ et la seule ayant une présentation que Veronica Marquez (responsable des médias sociaux) avait préparée. Heureusement que la batterie de l’ordinateur a tenu le coup pendant tout le salon. Il y a eu un flux presque continu de “clients” curieux de savoir qui nous étions (notre mission, les certifications ASQ ainsi que les événements et activités de la section de Montréal). Les étudiants présents provenaient d’un large éventail de disciplines de la gestion des opérations et de l’informatique, au niveau de la licence et de la maîtrise.

Ce fut un réel plaisir d’expliquer qui nous sommes aux jeunes qui sont passés nous voir. Beaucoup ont eu du mal à accepter l’idée que nous sommes une organisation bénévole de professionnels qui n’offre pas d’opportunités d’emploi et qui ne vend pas un produit connu. Un ou deux ont été très reconnaissants des explications sur la qualité et du rôle qu’elle devrait jouer dans leur vie. Un ou deux, sans surprise, étaient intéressés par la façon dont la formation à la qualité pourrait améliorer leurs possibilités d’emploi et/ou de carrière. Beaucoup ont été facilement encouragés à prendre au moins une image du code QR de nos dépliants afin de pouvoir se rendre sur notre site pour en savoir plus sur nous.

5939a7157e35959b751f31d16a8c7b55-huge-imAs part of the section’s continuing efforts to promote ASQ and its 18 quality professional certifications, we participated at the 2022.12.02 Réseautage BCM x AéMSG x ESG+ networking event. The event was organized by three sectors of the École des sciences de la gestion (ESG) of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) — the Bureau de Conseil en Management (BCM), the Association des étudiants en maitrise des sciences de la gestion (AéMSG) and ESG+ (the link betwda6e94b11029b3c3e108bcd85693f627-huge-imeen the business world and the school).

About 50 students from the school came to meet three experienced entrepreneurial speakers who shared their experiences on the themes of Technological Transition; Sustainable Development and Diversity in Entrepreneurship and representatives from various companies including IBM, Hydro, PWC, KPGM and others.

We had a real table while others were relegated to chest-height “cocktail” tables, so were able to display our 18 ASQ certification flyers and were the only ones with a presentation that Veronica Marquez (Social Media Chair) had prepared. Fortunately, our battery held out the entire show. An almost continuous stream of “customers” curious about who we were (our mission, ASQ certifications, and Montreal Chapter events and activities) stopped by. Students in attendance came from a wide range of disciplines in operations management and computer science, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

It was a real pleasure explaining who we are. Many had a hard time accepting the idea that we are a volunteer organization of professionals that does not offer job opportunities and does not sell a known product. One or two were very grateful for explanations of quality and the role it should play in their lives. One or two, not surprisingly, were interested in how quality training could improve their job and/or career opportunities. Many were easily encouraged to take at least one image from the QR code on our flyers so they could go to our site to learn more about us.

The Quality Manager and the Multiple Management Systems — Guest appearance in Toronto

Last December our Montreal Section Chair, Raymond E Dyer, BSc & MBA, ASQ Senior Member, CMQ/OE, & CQA took his 30 years plus in Quality experiences with various industries, quality methods, models, tools, management system registrations, and registrars virtually to Toronto (A short walk the living room). His objective: To share stories with the ever growing need to have Quality Management System (QMS) professionals represent organizations facing multiple management systems and their certifications, well beyond ISO 9001. This presentation, similar to the one at our General Assembly, last October, but with a virtual twist.

In his presentation Ray suggested that the QMS professional was the individual best able to ensure integration of the various systems because, that person usually had a :

    • • Broad understanding of the business;
    • • Cross functional influence;
    • • Experience with management system notions in Leadership communications, objectives, risk management, documentation, internal audits, management reviews, metrics/KPIs, corrective actions and improvement, etc. and a growing notion of an Integrated Management System;
    • • Experience representing the organization during 2nd and 3rd party audits.
Opportunities Challenges
  • Adopt common management system processes:
  • Risk management
  • Objectives and KPIs
  • Documentation
  • Internal audits
  • Management reviews
  • Corrective actions
  • Improvement opportunities
  • Dealing with non integrated systems already in place
  • Dealing with overcomplicated process requirements and excessive documentation (some may remember Dilbert’s “One big honkin binder”)
  • Dealing with different colleagues responsible (Beware of working in silos)
  • Dealing with highly competing priorities

His conclusions:
• Organizations are increasingly seeking recognition in more than one ISO certification (ISO 9001 is often just the start!);
• The QMS professional is often chosen to lead or strongly support such management system certifications due to their experience and the nature of their work;
• Integrating the common elements of these management systems helps improve effectiveness and efficiency of related activities.

The results of the 2022 Montreal Section Business Plan were reviewed at a recent meeting with Puneet Manchada (Regional Director), Natella Isazada (incoming Regional Director elect) and Sam Weissfelner (Deputy Regional Director), Montreal Section’s Raymond Dyer (Chairman) and Eric Hosking (Treasurer).  The section fared very well in attaining and surpassing many of the set objectives.Read the Summary and Results. As a result, Raymond Dyer received a Certificate of accomplishment on behalf of the Section for these results.

 

Congratulations to the Montreal Section Leadership Team. It was quite a year indeed.

Canada & Greenland Region: Quality Conference Highlights

Overcoming Adversity: A Leap Forward

Hybrid Conference, hosted by ASQ Vancouver

This year’s ASQ Canada Conference on Quality and Business Excellence was hosted by ASQ Vancouver Section 408 on November 19th, to mark World Quality Month.  It also became the first hybrid event hosted post-pandemic by ASQ Vancouver. Around 120 quality professionals attended the conference, with experts from various industries, plus academicians, students, and other friends of the quality community. More than forty attendees joined the sessions online from various parts of Canada.

Amongst the attendees were out-of-province ASQ member-leaders, including Puneet Manchanda, Regional Director of ASQ Canada and Greenland Region, Cecilia Barrios, Edmonton Section Chair and Member Leaders Shireen Fader of Calgary and Sumith Kahanda from Saskatchewan.

The organizing committee included ASQ Vancouver Section Chair Fuat Ramazanov, the Voice of Customer Chair Natella Isazada, and the Publicity Chair Louis Blais. As faculty members of Acsenda Management School in Vancouver, they are grateful to their partner organization Acsenda for accommodating the conference on their campus in the heart of downtown. ASQ Vancouver would also like to extend their gratitude to all sponsor organizations and to other Canadian Sections of ASQ who supported the conference.

Conference presentations generated a lot of interest in the audience. Among the speakers there were a 3x-Olympian, a Canadian track and field athlete completing in the javelin throw; Quality and Continuous Improvement Experts; Best-Selling Author and Podcast Host; Corporate Creativity expert, artist and coach; Corporate Reputation Management Expert; Operations and Technology Management Expert; Ergonomist and Occupational Hygiene Officer; as well certified quality auditors participating in the moderated panel discussion.
The day was packed with engaging sessions, networking opportunities, quality-related trivia games, catered meal and coffee breaks, door prizes and volunteer appreciation. The event was also attended by Acsenda top management who acknowledged the land the conference was conducted on and expressed their gratitude for the partnership with ASQ which is a mutually beneficial relationship that allows Acsenda students to learn through volunteering and to expand their horizons.

Well, it looks like my year as Section Chair is wrapping up. However, instead of preparing to say goodbye, I’m going to go one more year.

2022 has been a busy year filled with interesting virtual events, section communications, professional exchanges, and a long awaited in-person event. Your Section Leadership Team members get involved in all kinds of activities ranging from lining up events and speakers, making arrangements (both virtual and in-person), communicating via our newsletters, our websites, and our social platforms, supporting education for certifications and recertification, monitoring the status of our membership and how satisfied you are, balancing the budget and meeting our business plan, keeping records of our meetings and of our history, helping the team maintain and build its leadership members, involving students in the Quality community, and much more.

This is all volunteer work and we all have our other challenges to cope with as well, e.g. family obligations, work challenges, dealing with major changes in life, and health issues amongst a few of them. Notwithstanding, your Section Leadership Team delivered as best they could and I trust they will do so next year as well. Thank you for your support. Please reach out to us should you be interested in joining the team. We’re always on the lookout for new talent and ideas.

Eh bien, il semble que mon année en tant que président de la section se termine. Cependant, au lieu de me préparer à faire mes adieux, je vais continuer une année de plus.

L’année 2022 a été une année bien remplie, avec des événements virtuels intéressants, des communications de section, des échanges professionnels et un événement en personne tant attendu. Les membres de l’équipe de direction de votre section s’impliquent dans toutes sortes d’activités, qu’il s’agisse d’organiser des événements et des conférenciers, de faire les arrangements (virtuelles ou en personne), de communiquer via nos bulletins d’informations, nos sites Web et nos plateformes sociales, de soutenir la formation pour les certifications et les recertification, de surveiller le statut de nos membres et leur degré de satisfaction, d’équilibrer le budget et de respecter notre plan d’affaires, de tenir des registres de nos réunions et de notre histoire, d’aider l’équipe à maintenir et à renforcer ses membres dirigeants, d’impliquer les étudiants dans la communauté de la qualité, et bien plus encore.

Il s’agit d’un travail bénévole et nous avons tous d’autres défis à relever, par exemple des obligations familiales, des défis professionnels, des changements majeurs dans la vie et des problèmes de santé, pour n’en citer que quelques-uns. Malgré tout, l’équipe de direction de votre section a fait de son mieux et je suis convaincu qu’elle fera de même l’année prochaine. Je vous remercie de votre soutien. In this conference, our speaker will share a deep understanding of two LEAN approaches to support business transformation — Kaikaku and Kaizen Events. She will review general definitions around these terms and will explain the goal of each approach, the commonalities, the differences, and the benefits.

At the end of the conference, you will understand why “Kaikaku First and Kaizen Event Later” is a useful approach. Finally, she will share her formula to achieve a real Lean transformation in any business positively impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.

Our speaker: Albanesa Ymaya is from the Dominican Republic and is founder and CEO of Ymaya Lean Academy and FYLA (Ymaya Lean Academy Foundation).  Albanesa has more than 19 years as an Industrial Engineer working with Lean Transformations in the Manufacturing sector, such as medical Devices and electronics. She holds a post-degree in Quality and Productivity Management and specializations in Project Management and Logistics Management, is a Certified as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Six Sigma Green Belt; Six Sigma Yellow Belt; ISO and TL 9000 Auditor; Kepner Tregoe Practical Problem Solving; and Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST).

She is also trained in the Shingo Model and TPS. In her 19 years as a professor at different Institutes and Universities, Albanesa trained more than 6,000 people from different countries (Latin America, Caribbean, United State and Europe) and has been in Lean Manufacturing environments since she started her career as an industrial engineer. She lead different Lean transformations in different countries and managed project portfolios of more than $10 million and has been recognized for her work with different International Awards, such as “Lean Coach of the Year”; “Planet Lean of the Year”; and “Operations Excellence Award”. Lastly, she supports the Global Love and Kindness Project Foundation, founded by Karyn Ross, with the role of Caribbean Regional Director.

Canada Region Event October 2021 TeamHad you attended our General Assembly this past October 26, 2022, you would have had the opportunity to finally congratulate the 2021 ASQ Canada Conference committee led by Chantale Simard. An ASQ Member Leader Excellence Award was given last year by our Regional Director, Puneet Manchada, for the committee’s work; however, because of the COVID pandemic, the actual physical award was only made available recently. We were finally able to do the group photo of the team with the award.

Si vous aviez assisté à notre Assemblée générale le 26 octobre 2022, vous auriez eu l’occasion de féliciter enfin le comité de la 2021 ASQ Canada Conference dirigé par Chantale Simard. Un prix d’excellence ASQ Member Leader a été donné par notre directeur régional, Puneet Manchada, l’année dernière pour le travail du comité; mais à cause de la pandémie de COVID, le prix physique n’a été rendu disponible que récemment. Nous avons enfin pu faire la photo de groupe de l’équipe avec le prix.

So far in this year, the Student Outreach Committee was able to organize two student seminar series which were both very successful.

As ASQ Student Outreach Committee Chair, I will continue organizing another seminar series for this year. We are in process of planning this for the second week of December. The information on registration, our speaker’s bio along with an abstract will be released soon.

On October 26th, we held our annual general assembly followed by a workshop on Multiple Management Systems. This event was held in-person, the first since February 2020. The closing survey was responded to by 19 members.

Our survey asked participants to rate the following on a 5 point scale (5 being the highest): Subject, Approach, Presenter, and Exchange. We report the statistics as “Top Box Scores” (percentage of 4s and 5s out of the number of responses) and Average Percentage.

The results from our October 26th event in order of Subject, Approach, Presenter, Exchange, and Global were very strong:

Top Box Score: 100.0%; 94.7%; 100.0%; 100.0%; 98.7%.
Average Percentage: 93.7%; 93.7%; 94.7%; 96.8%; 94.7%.

We also had some feedback regarding proposed subjects including: The new face of quality (young untrained professional becoming the quality management team), Technical workshops like statistics, Medical device regulations, Change management, Registrars, Managing management systems,  Risk Management, GMP/GLP, Six sigma in manufacturing, Data analysis, DOE, Compliance, Data integrity, Continuous Improvement, and even Quality in making beer using solar power.

Also from the feedback, we gathered that quite a few were happy for the in-person aspect even though the room next door was a little loud and a few of us are still a little uncomfortable about being in-person. We also received suggestions regarding future awards.

Overall, excellent participation, satisfaction results and feedback. This event was indeed a joy to moderate. It felt good being “live” in front of people again. Thanks to my fellow Section Leadership Team members and our other members who attended and participated!

Le 26 octobre, nous avons tenu notre assemblée générale annuelle suivie d’un atelier sur les systèmes de gestion multiple. Cet événement s’est tenu en personne, le premier depuis février 2020. 19 membres ont répondu au sondage de fermeture.

Notre sondage demandait aux participants d’évaluer les éléments suivants sur une échelle de 5 points (5 étant le plus élevé): Sujet, Approche, Présentateur, et Échange. Nous présentons les statistiques sous forme de “Top Box Scores” (pourcentage de 4 et 5 par rapport au nombre de réponses) et de pourcentage moyen.

Les résultats de notre événement du 26 octobre selon le sujet, l’approche, le présentateur, l’échange et le globalement, ont été très bons:

Pourcentage moyen: 93.7%; 93.7%; 94.7%; 96.8%; 94.7%.

Nous avons également reçu quelques réactions concernant des sujets proposés, notamment: le nouveau visage de la qualité (jeune professionnel sans formation qui devient l’équipe de gestion de la qualité), des ateliers techniques tels que les statistiques, les réglementations relatives aux dispositifs médicaux, la gestion du changement, les registraires la gestion des systèmes de gestion, la gestion des risques, les BPF/GLP, Six Sigma dans la fabrication, l’analyse des données, le DOE, la conformité, l’intégrité des données, l’amélioration continue, et même la qualité dans la fabrication de la bière en utilisant l’énergie solaire.

D’après les commentaires, nous avons constaté que beaucoup étaient satisfaits de l’aspect en personne, même si la salle d’à côté était un peu bruyante et que certains d’entre nous sont encore un peu mal à l’aise à l’idée d’être en personne. Nous avons également reçu des suggestions concernant les futurs prix.

Dans l’ensemble, la participation, les résultats de satisfaction et les réactions étaient excellents. Cet événement a été un véritable plaisir à animer. Cela m’a fait du bien d’être à nouveau “en direct” devant les gens. Merci à mes collègues de l’équipe de direction de la section et à nos autres membres qui ont assisté et participé!

As is customary for the final Newsletter issue of a calendar year, I would like to wish all our readers and ASQ Montreal Section members the safest and happiest of holiday seasons.

As well, thank you to everyone who takes the time to read the monthly Newsletter (monthly here means January to June and September to November). It continues to be a pleasure being the one who puts this together for our membership.

Here’s looking towards a better and safer 2023.

This October 26th, 2022 was a special two part event.

Part 1 General Assembly: The Montreal Section Chair, Raymond E. Dyer (Ray), ASQ Senior Member, CMQ/OE, & CQA,  welcomed everyone, confirmed there was quorum  and opened the General Assembly. He stated that although it was no longer a requirement from ASQ, this has been an on-going tradition for over 72 years. This year, even more it gave the Section Leadership Team (SLT) an opportunity to renew in-person contacts since March 2020 and exchange with our membership. Each SLT Chair presented a short report of their activities. Then, he proceeded to give a series of Recognition Awards, some overdue since 2020 as the physical awards were not available:

    1. Denis Pronovost Award: Raymond Dyer reminded the assembly that a student bursary award had been created by Marcel Charbonneau with the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in memory of Denis Pronovost, a friend and well appreciated guest of both the Montreal English and French sections. It was handed out to Patrick Barnes, a student at the Quality Certificate of the ÉTS at the section’s June 15, 2022 Workshop event. Patrick presented his team project which fit right in with the workshop’s theme (More details here).
    2. Recognition Award for ASQ Canada Conference Committee: Chantale Simard was presented the award last year for her work and that of the team composed of Veronica Marquez, Mauricio Figueroa, David Tozer, Ruth Stanley, Jean-Pierre Amiel, Michel Guenette and Eric Hosking. The award was only received physically this year so a group picture was finally done with the award (More details here).
    3. Recognition Award to Veronica Marquez: This award was presented to Veronica last year by Chantale but was only received physically this year so a picture was finally done with the award (More details here).
    4. Recognition Awards 2022: Finally, Ray pulled out two more awards to thank two long-standing members of the SLT "In recognition of your commitment and outstanding contributions to the ASQ Montreal Section and your community".

Ce 26 octobre 2022 était un événement spécial en deux parties.

Première partie - l'Assemblée générale: Le président de la section de Montréal, Raymond E. Dyer (Ray), membre senior de l'ASQ, CMQ/OE et CQA, a souhaité la bienvenue à tous, a confirmé que le quorum était atteint et a ouvert l'assemblée générale. Il a déclaré que bien que ce ne soit plus une exigence de l'ASQ, c'est une tradition qui se poursuit depuis plus de 72 ans. Cette année, plus encore, elle a donné à l'équipe de direction de section (SLT) l'occasion de renouveler les contacts en personne depuis mars 2020 et d'échanger avec nos membres. Chaque responsable de secteur de la SLT a présenté un bref rapport de ses activités. Puis, il a procédé à la remise d'une série de prix de reconnaissance, certains en retard depuis 2020 car les prix physiques n'étaient pas disponibles:

    1. Bourse Denis Pronovost: Raymond Dyer rappelle à l'assemblée qu'une bourse d'études a été créée par Marcel Charbonneau avec l'École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) à la mémoire de Denis Pronovost, un ami et un invité très apprécié des sections montréalais anglophone et francophone. Il a été remis à Patrick Barnes, étudiant au certificat de qualité de l'ÉTS, lors de l'atelier de la section du 15 juin 2022. Patrick a présenté son projet d'équipe qui s'inscrivait parfaitement dans le thème de l'atelier (Plus de détails ici).
    2. Prix de reconnaissance pour le comité de la conférence d'ASQ Canada: Chantale Simard a reçu le prix l'année dernière pour son travail et celui de l'équipe composée de Veronica Marquez, Mauricio Figueroa, David Tozer, Ruth Stanley, Jean-Pierre Amiel, Michel Guenette et Eric Hosking. Le prix n'ayant été reçu que physiquement cette année, une photo de groupe a finalement été réalisée avec le prix (Plus de détails ici).
    3. Prix de reconnaissance à Veronica Marquez: Ce prix a été présenté à Veronica l'année dernière par Chantale mais n'a été reçu que physiquement cette année donc une photo a finalement été faite avec le prix (Plus de détails ici).
    4. Prix de reconnaissance 2022: Enfin, Ray a sorti deux autres prix (voir les photos plus haut) pour remercier deux membres de longue date de la SLT "En reconnaissance de votre engagement et de vos contributions exceptionnelles à la section ASQ Montréal et à votre communauté".

Eric Hosking Raymond presented this recognition to Eric for his many activities in the section and especially his leadership and skill in adapting to and adopting new technologies to support section activities such as Billhighway, ASQ’s new accounting system. Raymond a présenté cette reconnaissance à Eric pour ses nombreuses activités au sein de la section et surtout pour son leadership et ses compétences dans l'adaptation et l'adoption de nouvelles technologies pour soutenir les activités de la section, telles que Billhighway, le nouveau système de comptabilité de l'ASQ.
Sam Weissfelner Raymond presented this award to Sam for the tireless background work he has been doing not only in promoting ASQ, recruiting members and leadership team members, developing the Certified Software Quality Engineer body of knowledge and certification, but now as Deputy Regional director as J.P. Amiel proudly oversaw this moment. Raymond a ensuite présenté ce prix à Sam pour le travail de fond inlassable qu'il a effectué non seulement pour promouvoir l'ASQ, recruter des membres et des membres de l'équipe de direction, développer le corps de connaissances et la certification Certified Software Quality Engineer, mais maintenant en tant que directeur régional adjoint pendant que J.P. Amiel a fièrement supervisé cet instant.

Part 2 Workshop on Multiple Management Systems: For the second part of the evening, Ray did a short presentation on the challenges and the opportunities that come with having to deal with the myriad of standards and norms required to run a business. Typically, many standards may deal with quality, safety, environment, business continuity, social responsibility and others. These standards may be of international scope, state, provincial and even municipal: How can companies manage more than one management system?

He then invited the 20 attendees to regroup into three teams with the mission To seek and share their experiences with and what they may have done, or think should be done, regarding the management of multiple Management Systems and their certifications. He proposed that each team choose a moderator and a note taker, raise and discuss ways to improve the integration of various management systems and then select the top 3 that would be shared with the other participants. What a special evening.

Seconde partie - Atelier sur les systèmes de gestion multiples: Pour la deuxième partie de la soirée, Ray a fait une courte présentation sur les défis et les opportunités qui se présentent lorsqu'on doit faire face à la myriade de standards et de normes nécessaires pour gérer une entreprise. En général, de nombreuses normes peuvent porter sur la qualité, la sécurité, l'environnement, la continuité des activités, la responsabilité sociale et autres. Ces normes peuvent être de portée internationale, étatique, provinciale et même municipale: comment les entreprises peuvent-elles gérer plus d'un système de gestion?

Il a ensuite invité les 20 participants à se regrouper en trois équipes avec pour mission de rechercher et de partager leurs expériences et ce qu'ils ont pu faire, ou pensent qu'il faudrait faire, concernant la gestion de plusieurs systèmes de gestion et leurs certifications. Il a proposé que chaque équipe choisisse un modérateur et un preneur de notes, soulève et discute des moyens d'améliorer l'intégration de divers systèmes de gestion, puis sélectionne les trois meilleurs qui seront partagés avec les autres participants. Quelle soirée spéciale!
